Training Overview
QuickBooks 101 is a foundational, hands-on bookkeeping and financial management training designed for entrepreneurs participating in AYA Foundation’s small business programming. The training helps business owners strengthen their understanding of bookkeeping, become more confident navigating QuickBooks, and develop the foundational knowledge needed to better understand and manage their business finances.
The training also serves as a foundation for entrepreneurs who may transition into AYAConnex 1:1 Bookkeeping Coaching. By establishing core bookkeeping knowledge before individualized coaching begins, entrepreneurs are better positioned to maximize their 4–6 months of personalized support with AYA’s bookkeeping and accounting coaches.

Bookkeeping Fundamentals — Understand what bookkeeping is, why it matters, and how accurate financial records support a healthy business.
QuickBooks Setup & Navigation — Learn how to navigate QuickBooks and understand its primary tools and functions.
Chart of Accounts & Company Setup — Understand how financial activity is categorized and organized within QuickBooks.
Tracking Income & Expenses — Learn practical approaches for accurately recording business revenue and expenses.
Bank Reconciliation — Gain an introductory understanding of reconciling business accounts and identifying discrepancies.
Financial Reports & Statements — Learn how to generate and begin interpreting key financial reports to better understand the financial health of the business.
Financial Organization — Explore best practices for maintaining receipts, records, documentation, and consistent bookkeeping processes.
Questions & Practical Support — Receive dedicated time to ask questions and gain clarity around common bookkeeping and QuickBooks challenges.
