The Queens Jazz Orchestra returns to Flushing Town Hall to celebrate the 100th birthday of NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Heath. A legend who played with everyone from Coltrane and Miles to Tony Bennett, and a proud Queens resident who called Corona home for years. Led by saxophonist Antonio Hart, Heath’s protégé, the orchestra will perform his orchestral compositions, including works that have never been performed for the public. Swinging, sentimental, and harmonically gorgeous, this is a night for anyone who loves jazz. 🎷
Circle of Friends members, join us at 6:30 PM in our gallery for a complimentary pre-show reception with food, wine, beer, and soft drinks before the concert. Mingle with fellow jazz lovers and FTH staff! 🎺
