HEADLINERS
AKINS
Akins is a Birmingham-based poet, spoken-word artist and storyteller, exploring faith, love, identity, friendship and grief through intimate, conversational poetry. Her work is rooted in one simple motto: Love Loud. Since emerging onto the scene in 2026, she has performed at Big Church Festival, Poetry Palace and Spit Nights, reaching the semi-final of the Big Church Festival Poetry Slam.
VINCENT
Vincent is a Zimbabwean-born, Birmingham-based 200m/400m sprinter, spoken word poet, and production assistant. Vincent’s work explores vulnerability, modern masculinity and the nuances of heartbreak, inviting audiences to walk through his memories and emotions alongside him. His goal is simple: connection, transparency, and making people feel. He is also the writer behind In the Name of Feeling (with Vince), a Substack publication exploring film, literature, personal narrative, and the things that move us.
OPEN MIC
We’ve got more open mic slots this time around.
Whether you’re a regular performer or want to try spoken word for the first time, come and share your work.
DM Vig or email us to sign up.
If all the slots go, we’ll also have a few wild card picks on the night.
The audience votes for their favourite poet, and the winner gets a feature slot at the next show.
LIVE MUSIC
Soulful live music throughout the evening, alongside the poetry and performances.

Poet’s Palace is a platform for emerging spoken word artists.
