About this Event
Join Us in the UCD Comhar Programme
Comhar (pronounced Core) is the Irish word for partnership, teamwork, and cooperation. The UCD Comhar Programme offers a dynamic series of cultural experiences and interactive workshops designed to build intercultural competence, personal connections, and global citizenship among all UCD students. Participating in these events helps you navigate a fast-changing, globalised world while giving you the opportunity to earn our programme Certificate of Engagement and credit toward the UCD Advantage Award.

Uncover the creative power of poetry to express your personal journey! Facilitated by acclaimed poet Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan, this expressive workshop guides participants through creative writing prompts and stream-of-consciousness exercises. You will explore themes of identity, transition, and belonging while writing three original poems in a supportive artistic space. No previous writing experience is required, just an open mind and a willingness to explore your story!
What You Will Learn From Attending
- Write Original Poetry: Complete 3 individual poems exploring memory, place, identity, and personal history.
- Master Writing Techniques: Practice guided prompts and stream-of-consciousness exercises to unlock creative expression.
- Build Literary Empathy: Sharpen active listening skills and gain confidence sharing narratives in a supportive peer circle.
Earn Your Certificate of Engagement:
To earn your UCD Comhar Certificate of Engagement (and gain credit toward the UCD Advantage Award), you must complete one Core Workshop (facilitated by ICOS or GORM Media) plus any Additional Workshop in the series. The session you are viewing counts as an Additional Workshop.
Make sure to register for one of our Core Workshops as well to complete your programme requirements!
