Where does a jewel really begin? Lechelle Petite traces Japanese Akoya pearls and jadeite from their origins in sea and earth to the hands of farmers, cutters, craftspeople and designers. From cosmopolitan Singapore, a gateway between East and West, the presentation explores the traditions and people behind each jewel, and how heritage materials and diverse cultural influences come together in contemporary jewellery designed for the global woman.
