The Newlyweds are an indie laptop band helmed by Matthew Leary and Daniel Abramson. The group began in late 2024 as an indie rock outfit produced by indie darling and sound rocker Lex Walton out of Geese’s rehearsal space, before scrapping the entirety of that body of work to reinvent themselves as purveyors of what they call post-modern laptop music. Since late 2025, The Newlyweds have been prolific in releasing music, carving out a sound that leaves the conventions of indie rock behind in favor of something distinctly their own.
