About this Event
Mohammed el-Kurd is an award-winning poet, writer, journalist, and organizer from Jerusalem, Palestine. This year's title, Perfect Victims, confronts the condemnations levelled against Palestinians as they respond to life under genocide, occupation, and settler-colonialism. Perfect Victims is a critical examination of the blame Palestinians receive while the perpetrators are excused. Through his essays, el-Kurd is unflinching in his refusal to a “life in cross-examination,” and we invite attendees to discuss how he urges readers to confront the “perfect victim” narrative we see in the fight for Palestinian liberation.
Librarians and Archivists with Palestine is a global network of information workers in solidarity with Palestine. Their One Book, Many Communities campaign has the goal of introducing readers to the richness of Palestinian literature, and to promote a broader understanding of Palestinian history and the struggle for liberation.
