What makes a food distinctly Toronto? Part storytelling, part tasting experience, and part exhibition tour, Tastes of Toronto explores the histories, cultures, and communities behind the city’s flavours.
For this special edition, Ivan Wadgymar of Maizal will explore Mexican culinary traditions and Kensington Market’s role as a community anchor and gateway to Latin American culture in Toronto. Through conversation and curated tastings, discover how food carries stories of migration, identity, tradition, and belonging.
Presented on the eve of Día de los Muertos and in partnership with The Depanneur, this immersive evening offers a delicious way to experience Toronto’s history—and the communities that continue to shape it.
About the Exhibition
The T.O. You Don't Know invites visitors to look beyond familiar narratives and discover the hidden histories, overlooked voices, and unexpected stories that have shaped Toronto. Through photographs, artifacts, maps, and multimedia experiences, the exhibition reveals a city that is more complex, surprising, and diverse than many people realize.
