About the Presentation:
Project Controls & PMO - From Reporting Function to Strategic Decision-Making Capability

For too long, Project Controls and PMOs have been defined by their ability to report the past i.e., measuring progress, explaining variance and producing increasingly sophisticated dashboards. The Systech presentation to AACE challenges the profession to go further as the future of Project Controls is not reporting what happened, but shaping what happens next. By transforming integrated cost, schedule, risk and commercial data into foresight, Project Controls can move upstream in the decision cycle anticipating threats, identifying opportunities and enabling leaders to intervene while outcomes can still be influenced.

AI, advanced analytics and automation will accelerate this shift, but technology alone will not create a strategic PMO. The real transformation is one of purpose and influence moving from reporter to adviser, from variance analysis to scenario intelligence, and from governance support to strategic decision enablement. The opportunity is to redefine the value of Project Controls not by how accurately it describes performance, but by how effectively it improves decisions, strengthens predictability and shapes better outcomes. If Project Controls has the data, insight and expertise to see what is coming, how can it move from observing the future to actively shaping it?

How to get to the Event?
From Union Station via the PATH
  1. From Union Station, enter the PATH and follow the signs towards RBC Plaza.
  2. Continue through the PATH towards RBC Plaza. Lumi is located in the North Tower.
  3. Continue following the PATH towards RBC Plaza. You’ll pass two sets of escalators along the way — do not take these, as they lead to the South Tower. Continue past both sets of escalators and keep walking until you pass Flight Centre on your right.
  4. Take the escalators immediately after Flight Centre up to the North Tower.
  5. At the top of the escalators, look for the elevator bank labelled 17+.
  6. Take these elevators to Level 16. Although the elevator bank is labelled 17+, these elevators do go directly to the 16th floor.
  7. Lumi is Unit 1600, located directly across from the elevator bank.

From Street Level – Coming from Union Station
  1. Exit Union Station and head north on Bay Street.
  2. Turn left onto Wellington Street.
  3. Use the entrance on Wellington Street to enter RBC Plaza. This entrance provides access to the North Tower, where Lumi is located.
  4. Important: The entrances on Bay Street and Front Street lead to the South Tower, so please use the Wellington Street entrance.
  5. Once inside, take the elevator bank labelled 17+.
  6. Despite the 17+ label, these elevators go directly to Level 16.
  7. Exit on Level 16. Lumi is Unit 1600, located directly across from the elevator bank.

Parking

There is one parking garage entrance and exit located along Wellington Street directly west of Bay Street. The parking garage is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
