## WTF is a Meet MarketThe Meet Market is the anti-app. Application-only, phones checked at the door, open bar the first hour.
This event is for Yale Graduate students (SOM, YLS, Jackson). Because dating across campuses should be easier.
## **WHAT'S INCLUDED**
Your ticket includes:
- A curated room of approved applicants, roughly 50/50 men to women
- Open bar for the first hour
- Phone check at the door, with a claim ticket
- The Meet Market Minute: one-minute rounds, so nobody has to invent an opener
- The Wall of Love Letters, for anyone too shy to walk up
- Conversation cards, sticky notes and pens everywhere
- Polaroid wall
## **HOW IT WORKS**
You apply. We read every application and build the room by hand for age, intent and balance. You're only charged if you're accepted.
The neighborhood, date and time are public. The exact venue is not. It lands in your inbox 24 hours before the doors open. The room is the one thing we don't crowdsource.
At the door: check in, take a number, hand over your phone, pick up a menu. Phones go into a numbered envelope behind the counter and come back at the end of the night.
## **THE LIST DOES NOT GET RELEASED**
No post-event contact sheet. No mutual-match email. No second chance. If you want to see someone again, you have to ask while you're standing in front of them. That's the whole design. The sting of not asking is a feature.
## **WHO THIS IS FOR**
Single people in grad school who are sick and tired of the nonsense. Ambitious, over the apps, and still actually looking. You have to be single to apply. This isn't a mixer and it isn't networking. Everyone in the room is there for the same reason, which is exactly why it works.
## **PHOTOGRAPHY**
Photo and video will be captured during the night and may be used by The Meet Market. Tell us at check-in if you'd rather stay out of it.
