MEDICAL QIGONG PRACTITIONER TRAINING22-month certification program with Michel Duhaime
Beginning October 16–18, 2026 in the Comox Valley
Medical Qigong is the energetic branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, combining movement, breath, focused intention and an understanding of the body’s energetic systems to support health and healing.
This comprehensive 22-month training is designed for students who want to develop a dedicated personal Qigong practice while learning how to work with others in a clinical and therapeutic context.
This is an in-depth practitioner training rather than a general wellness class. The curriculum balances self-cultivation, theory and clinical application, with ongoing movement practice, monthly seminars, home study and supervised clinical experience.
THE TRAINING INCLUDES
• Medical Qigong movement, breath and meditation practices
• Respiratory and postural training
• Energetic anatomy, including the meridian system, internal organs, Dantian and Wei Qi fields
• Tonification, purgation and regulation of Qi
• Energetic sensitivity, assessment and projection skills
• The relationship between emotional patterns and organ health
• Healing sounds and internal-organ practices
• Yi Quan meditation and focused intention
• Qi emission methods and energetic point therapy
• Clinical treatment protocols and prescription exercises
• Practitioner boundaries, energetic protection and self-care
• Integrating Medical Qigong with other healing modalities
PROGRAM FORMAT
The program runs for 22 months, from October 2026 through July 2028, and includes a minimum of 150 hours of theoretical and practical training.
Students participate in:
• Weekly movement practice, either in person on Tuesdays or by Zoom on Thursdays
• Monthly in-person gatherings that alternate between a Friday evening class and a full Friday–Sunday training weekend
• Reading, movement, meditation and breathing assignments between classes
• 48 hours of clinical practicum, including 15 hours in a supervised student clinic at the end of the program
Participation requirements include a minimum of 50% attendance at the weekly movement classes, at least 80% attendance at the monthly in-person training, and participation in a two-day student clinic.
