About this Event
Grab your picnic banket and spend a fun Sunday afternoon creating, exploring, and laughing at these child and guardian art classes. These S.T.E.A.M.-based classes are bursting with arts and crafts ideas that encourage kids to explore patterns, shapes, symmetry, and comparisons while trying out unique tools.
Steam Engines Learning Co takes great pride and care in ensuring that these classes are a welcoming space for parents to bring all the mess, noise, and silliness that comes with having little ones around.
Each class starts with 5-10 minutes of coloring, while little ones warm up to new faces. Then we'll work on our first craft, and learn which S.T.E.A.M. principles it supports. As children wrap up their first project, a story will be read aloud to the group- children are welcome to color or look at the story's illustrations. Then we'll learn about our second craft, and children who finish early are welcome to stick around and color until our 40-minute class is over.
Please Note:A responsible adult (18+) must stay with the child through the duration of this class. These crafts might get messy, so please dress your child appropriately. When planned lessons include paint, short-sleeved smocks will be provided. Please keep in mind that there are no bathrooms at Fitler Square Park.
