About this Event
Formed in 2022, The Stone Combo are a jazz trio comprised of Glasgow University alumni Cameron Duff (double bass), Calum Steel (guitar) and Charlotte Stuart (voice). Having met during their studies within the BMus programme, the three found a shared passion for popular jazz music. Together, they strive to bring to life the works within The Great American Songbook, taking inspiration from the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker and Louis Armstrong.Since 2024, the trio have been working with Live Music Now Scotland; a charity organisation that aims to bring high quality music performance to those who would otherwise be unable to access it. Through this work, they have given performances across the central belt within care homes, hospitals and day centres. This incredibly fulfilling work has afforded them the chance to meet and connect with so many remarkable people, and allowed them to see firsthand the difference that music can make in people's lives.Additionally, LMNS has a strong focus on free public performances, and the trio have been fortunate enough to play in iconic venues such as The National Galleries, and The French Institute in their Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut. In the coming months, The Stone Combo look forward to continuing their work with LMNS with scheduled performances in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and the Usher Hall.
