Elizabeth S. Dipchand is the managing partner of Dipchand LLP, a boutique Toronto law firm known for its significant practice in intellectual property law, with a strong focus on technology and innovation. Holding an LLM from Dalhousie University and dual honors degrees in biochemistry and genetics before getting her LLB from Western University, Elizabeth blends deep scientific knowledge with legal experience to guide clients in emerging tech fields such as biotech, agritech, fintech, ML/AI. She advises on complex IP strategies involving acquisition, management, and enforcement tailored to support intellectual capital driven industries.

Elizabeth’s litigation and transactional experience span cutting-edge issues at the crossroads of regulatory law, patents, and technology commercialization. Her leadership in coordinating global IP portfolios for AI and tech clients enables them to protect their intellectual assets amidst evolving legal landscapes. Recognized by Chambers and Partners and World Intellectual Property Review, she also actively shapes the future of tech law through roles on boards including the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. Elizabeth is a sought-after thought leader on IP Strategy, technology, and IP law, making her an insightful voice for panels on the future of ownership where AI and tech intersect with intellectual property.

Esha Gupta


Esha is the Managing Lawyer at CounselPro Law, a fractional general counsel firm serving global technology and AI companies. In this role, she oversees a broad range of legal functions, including regulatory affairs, corporate formation and restructuring, governance, litigation, ethics and compliance, contracts, employment, privacy, cybersecurity incident response, and intellectual property. Previously, Esha served as Group Counsel – Banking at Vencora, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU), where she advised a global portfolio of financial services software companies across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Her earlier experience includes practicing at Baker & McKenzie LLP, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, and serving as Counsel – Wealth at TD Bank.

Esha’s professional excellence and community leadership have been widely recognized. She received Osgoode Hall Law School’s Gold Key Award as the “One-to-Watch” for her leadership, professionalism, and compassion, particularly in promoting mental health and equity for racialized lawyers, women, youth, and people with disabilities. She has also been named a TEDx Speaker, one of the Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers by Canadian Lawyer Magazine, and among the 50 Under 50 Indo-Canadians. Beyond her legal practice, Esha is a sought-after speaker and educator, having lectured at universities and colleges across Ontario, including Osgoode Hall Law School and the Ted Rogers School of Management. She has presented at the Law Society of Ontario, Law Society of New Brunswick, and the Toronto Region Board of Trade, and frequently judges national advocacy competitions. Esha is also the founder of Mindful Lawyer Canada, an organization dedicated to promoting mental well-being in the legal profession through meditation and mindfulness.
