Learn to weave a round tray, approximately 14 inches wide, from locally harvested willow.Find more info at: https://www.halfmoonbaskets.com/weekend-of-weaving-january-2027#willow-tray
We’ll begin with a 3×3 slath base, learning to make hidden, staggered joins as we weave our way around the centre. Once the inner circle is complete, we’ll explore techniques for softening and bending willow, learning how to create gentle curves without kinking the rods.
We’ll finish with a decorative trac border, framing the woven centre and bringing the whole piece together.
