Born from the northern spirit of Finland, Korpiklaani (“Backwoods Clan”) stands as one of the pioneers of modern folk metal — a genre where the energy of heavy metal meets the heart of traditional folk music. Unlike many of their peers who added folk elements to metal, Korpiklaani’s roots began deeply in folk tradition before evolving into the powerful sound they’re known for today.Over the years, Korpiklaani has released numerous acclaimed albums and toured worldwide, building a loyal global following. Their songs celebrate nature, freedom, and Finnish culture — often told through tales of the forest, folk legends, and an unapologetic love of life, laughter, and good drink.
Today, Korpiklaani continues to bridge the old and new — carrying forward the soul of ancient folk music through the driving pulse of modern metal, uniting fans from all corners of the world under one backwoods banner.
