About this Event
Researchers, technologists, healthcare professionals and innovators are invited to King's College London for ‘Agents of Science’, a one-day event exploring the opportunities and challenges that AI agents present for research and innovation.
The event will examine recent developments in AI systems that can support a range of research activities, including literature review, hypothesis generation, experimental design, data analysis and laboratory workflows. Discussions will consider the potential benefits of these technologies, as well as their limitations and the challenges involved in deploying them in research settings.
Particular attention will be given to how technologies could support more collaborative, reproducible and effective ways of working across disciplines, including engineering, physics, chemistry, biomedical sciences and health research. The programme will address questions of trust, safety, governance and responsible use, alongside the continuing role of human expertise, judgement and oversight.
Through presentations and discussion, the event aims to bring together different perspectives on the future of AI-enabled research and identify priorities for the development of AI systems that support scientific discovery and its application to health and societal challenges.
