About this Event
This one-day hybrid practitioners’ workshop will bring together researchers, pastors, young adults, youth leaders and workers, parents, community practitioners and representatives of Christian organisations to explore intergenerational perspectives on mission and practice among African Pentecostals in Britain.
The workshop will consider the experiences of second-generation African Christians in relation to faith formation, identity, belonging, race, youth wellbeing, intergenerational relationships and participation in Christian mission. It will also examine how churches, families, universities, youth workers and community organisations might respond constructively and collaboratively.
The programme will feature a principal research presentation from Dr Bisi Adenekan-Koevoets, shorter presentations from Joseph Ola and Kashane Gayle, round-table discussions, audience questions and a panel conversation. Participants will be invited to move beyond identifying challenges towards developing practical responses, future collaborations and possible next steps.
The event will be held at the University of Roehampton and will also be accessible online. Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.
