Ink, Drink, Press!
Budget friendly printmaking art class suitable for beginners and arty types, to do over a few drinks.
Fantastic fun with friends, cool date night activity or a great way to socialise with other local creatives in independent East London pubs, bars, cafés and breweries!
Forget sketching – it’s time to get inky.
Done Drink and Draw? Want an alternative to Paint and Sip nights? It’s time to level up your midweek evenings with a different kind of pub art class.

What’s it all about?
Collagraph printing.
Be guided through the process of how to make your printing plate, mix colours, ink up and use the specialist printing press!
All materials are of course provided.
Spend the first part of the evening creating your unique design by cutting and sticking layers of card to create areas that trap and hold ink. – Matches perfectly with drinks, food and catching up with your date/ friends/ or fellow participants.
Next, step up to the messy part! (No worries gloves provided) You’ll be choosing colour combos, mixing inks and having fun applying colour to your printing plate.
Finally, move on to the print table! A combination of damp paper and the pressure from the press, ensure that the paper is squeezed into the plate.
Peel to reveal that amazing print!
Then – Do it all again. Try a different set of colours.

What if I think I’m no good at art?
- Class is beginner friendly.
- Simple designs are effective.
- Templates are available for you to draw around
- Teacher on hand to help with anything you need.
I’m already arty, will I get anything out of it?
Definitely, yes. Bring along an image or idea you have to use. Had some amazing work done at Ink, Drink, Press! by artists. Join us!
Will I get messy?
We use glue sticks and water-based inks.
While inks are washable, certain colours may stain clothes. It hasn’t been a problem, but if you are very concerned either bring an apron or get in touch and we might be able to provide one.
Disposable gloves are provided and you can wash your hands.
I’m left-handed, am I catered for?
Yes, I provide lefty scissors. The press can be run easily using either hand.
I’m not drinking alcohol, can I still come?
Of course! All welcome. Our venues provide a range of non-alcoholic drinks.
I’m hungry?
Gravity Well aren't currently serving their own food - aside from bar snacks, but I believe they do allow delivery of veggie food - check at the bar.
Limited spaces so book now.
Numbers are kept to a limited number to ensure that there is plenty of time for everyone to use the shared equipment several times over.
