From persecution to establishment: Lanier, Prelleur and Barthelemon
About this Event

give and overview of music by Huguenot composers working in England and France from the early seventeenth to the late eighteenth centuries, including Nicholas Lanier, de Sainte-Colombe, Prelleur, and members of the Barthelemon familly. The story of their integration into British life is reflected by David Garrick and his family, whose connections with France are illustrated with accounts and letters.

Philippa Hyde - Soprano

William Summers - Flute, Recorder

Diane Moore - Violin

Ibrahim Aziz - Cello

Yeo Yat-Soon - Harpsichord

Ellis Jones - Reader, research and writing

Sue Bell - Reader

The concert will run without an interval to around 7.45pm, and drinks will be served 6 - 6.30pm. As usual, we will be using period instruments.

Admission is, as usual, cheaper if booked in advance, and the higher prices reflect the cost of this prestigious church in the West End of London and the larger number of performers.
