About this Event

Imperial College London is proud to present the Black Voices in FoNS on Wednesday 10th of June from 10am-4pm; a day of discussion, inspiration, and community.

At Imperial, FoNS is made up of Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Life Sciences.

Join us for an insightful conference featuring panels from current students in FoNS, alumni and PhD students from FoNS of black heritage, workshops catering to current and prospectus students and a keynote adress from Bidemi Ojudu - Vice President at J.P. Morgan.

Why Attend?

This initiative has been created in response to student feedback and aims to inspire prospective (Year 11 and 12) and current students by increasing the visibility of black role models in the Natural Sciences and fostering a strong sense of belonging for those of black heritage. It also aims to highlight clear pathways from undergraduate study to research and career opportunities, while creating spaces for mentorship, networking, and meaningful peer connections through engaging panels and interactive sessions.

This event is also part of Imperial's efforts to support equality, diversity, and inclusion. It aims to:

  • Inspire and empower students through real-life experiences
  • Provide visible role models from underrepresented backgrounds
  • Foster a welcoming space for discussion and networking

Who Can Attend?

While the event is primarily aimed at prospective students (Year 11 and 12) of black heritage interested in FoNS all students interested in studying FoNS at Imperial are welcome - regardless of background. Everyone interested in learning, connecting, and celebrating diverse experiences in FoNS is encouraged to attend.
