Fábrica de Agua / Mexico City: New Futures
Eco-Hydrological Parks, Civic and Ecological Catalysts
What if water infrastructure became public space? On November 18 at NYU, we invite you for a conversation that explores how water can become a catalyst for a new generation of urban projects. Daniel Holguín and Dan Perlin of Multiplicities, a Mexico City-based design team working at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urban strategy, join Dean Chahim (Department of Environmental Studies, NYU) for a conversation on Fábrica de Agua and the emerging eco-hydrological landscapes reshaping Mexico City.
Together, they examine how architecture, landscape, infrastructure, and ecology can come together to address water scarcity, flooding, climate resilience, and new forms of public life. Rather than treating water as a hidden utility, their projects propose making it visible, productive, and civic, transforming urban infrastructure into spaces for collective life and ecological regeneration.
This conversation invites us to reimagine the role of water, design, and architecture in shaping the future of cities like Mexico City.
This event is presented in collaboration with the NYU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
