Messaging is difficult. Not least because it’s often confused with the objective, resulting in corporate statements that lack depth, differentiation or value for the audience. Great PR messaging starts with a clear understanding of what the business is trying to achieve then develops the stories, insights, and “so what” messages to meet this need. Differentiation comes when PR professionals are embedded in the business, working with leaders and experts to identify what matters, find the hook and develop strong and differentiated statements.
This practical session draws on a PR practitioner’s perspective with real-world dos and don’ts to help you tap into the knowledge and expertise within your business and turn it into compelling messages. We’ll explore the role of the PR professional within this process, why knowing the business matters, and why being proactive in developing the message means any good PR person should be able to do the first five minutes of almost any interview themselves.
