About this Event
ESL 1 is designed for students who understand the English language to some extent and can hold a minimal conversation. This course is not for absolute beginners, as the class will be taught entirely in English, and students are expected to respond in English. This course will primarily focus on developing your verbal communication, but also cover reading skills, lisening comprehension, and pronunciation. You will also be introduced to cultural highlights specific to American culture. The textbook used for this course is "World Link 1", which can be ordered at the above link. Students are required to purchase the textbook and have it with them for every lesson. The course will cover three units in the book. Course Goals Improve speaking skills: Engage in simple conversations on familiar topics, such as personal background, hobbies, and preferences. Expand vocabulary: Acquire a basic range of vocabulary related to common themes, including personal information, family, home, and daily activities.
