The song-writer open mic is BACK ... with a new name & revamped. Duck Bowl is named (with love) for the beloved song prompt holder that started it all, even though, in the interest of full honesty, it was actually geese. We're keeping the name anyway. Some legends deserve to outlive the facts.
Join us the 2nd Thursday of every month from 7–9pm for a songwriter's open mic dedicated entirely to original music.
That's the one rule: no covers. So Hotel California is not welcome on our stage - unless you happen to be an original member of the Eagles, in which case, please, take a seat and tell us everything.
Duck Bowl Open Mic is here to build a real songwriter community in Cochrane: a place to shake off the writing slump, get the creative juices flowing, and share work in progress or work you're proud of, with people who actually want to hear it.
Each month comes with fresh song prompts to spark something new. Audience members aren't just welcome, they're essential : come help build the prompts, cheer on the incredible talent on stage, and settle in for a night of real, unscripted songwriting. Who knows - you might just hear a song written for you.
