THE MAGIC OF IT ALL: THE STORY OF STRAWBSWorld Premiere + Q&A
In 2022, Dave Cousins, frontman of British folk prog pioneers Strawbs, travelled to Cape Town for what was intended to be a simple recording session. Instead, facing cancer, he delayed treatment and endured eight months of isolation to complete his swansong, The Magic of It All, with a studio band of leading South African musicians. Featuring Strawbs alumni and collaborators Rick Wakeman, Blue Weaver, John Ford and Brian Willoughby, alongside legendary producer Tony Visconti, this documentary captures an extraordinary period of artistic rebirth and sacrifice, culminating in a triumphant final performance before 25,000 fans at Cropredy. A moving tribute to Strawbs and the transcendent power of music in the face of mortality.
