THE LAST SAVASANA: YOGA, BREATHWORK & ENQUIRY FOR THE FINAL EXIT
Most of us spend our lives trying to prolong them: we look both ways before crossing the street, buckle our seatbelts, check expiration dates, and avoid unnecessary risks. Yet no amount of optimisation – not even yoga – can help us escape life’s inevitable end.
What yoga can offer is a way to face impermanence with greater steadiness, compassion and clarity. When we soften our fear around death, we begin to appreciate the extraordinary preciousness of each day we are alive.
This workshop uses yoga as a doorway into that deeper conversation. Through three progressive practices – standing poses, gentle floor work and pranayama – you’ll explore three distinct Savasanas, each framed by a reflective question about your own mortality.
Examples include:
– What do I regret?
– What legacy do I hope to leave?
– Who am I without my roles or achievements?
Each practice is followed by time for journaling and quiet contemplation. We’ll close with a group discussion and, of course, one final (for this workshop!) restorative Savasana.
This is not a workshop about morbidity – it’s about presence, agency and living more fully by making peace with the one reality we all share.
