Michael Perrone and Sonjia Shelly will lead a Halloween morning bird walk. Come look for birds and friendly goblins at the Davis Cemetery District and Arboretum. The 28-acre cemetery is a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat. Many species of birds are attracted to this suburban woodland. The cemetery is well known for a large flock of Wild Turkeys. Several species of raptors are regulars at the cemetery, including the White-tailed Kite, Cooper’s Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, and Barn Owl. Western Bluebirds, Nuttall’s Woodpeckers, Red-breasted Sapsuckers, Dark-eyed Juncos, and Yellow-rumped Warblers also winter at the cemetery.
Accessibility:
Birders of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and beginning birders are encouraged to attend! Birding will be done on foot and will include a relatively short walk throughout the cemetery, with regular stops to look and listen for birds. There are restrooms available at the Davis Cemetery and Arboretum.
Meeting Location and Registration:
