In Mexico, and other Latin American countries, the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration is a time to acknowledge, recognize, and honor the importance of familial or community loved ones represented in an elaborate and artist ofrenda or altar (display) that includes their picture, flowers, sugar skulls, papel picado, decorations, and favorite foods.Art and offrendas will be set up 12-4 pm.
4-7 pm there will be a bienvenida, dance performance, folklorico, mariachi and music band, vendors, and booths thanks to our sponsors the Davis Phoenix Coalition, Davis Chamber of Commerce, Recology, Yolo Federal Credit Union and in partnership/collaboration with ES YOLO Academy, Porro Productions, Tres Mexican Graduate Student Association, and Tres Hermanas.
We invite Community members to build an altar to a group or community members you would like to uplift.
