About this Event
The things and processes we often categorise as infrastructure occupy a zone beyond the limits of our cognition, one buried in our everyday lives. These systems, the parts and the whole, are held in a tension that resists purely optical inspection. Infrastructures operate below the average thresholds of human awareness. To engage creatively with them is to go back to first principles. Please join us for a reading by Matthew De Abaitua, a infrastructurally oriented conversation between Tom O'Dea and Jessica Foley and a collaborative reading of Mickey Donnelly's 1983 Circa Magazine interview with Nancy Holt. The event will be hosted by artist and publication editor Dennis McNulty.
Everything Is Somewhere Else, edited by Dennis McNulty, and published during Covid 2020 by PVA Books, comprises texts, both fiction and nonfiction, documentary materials, and images that respond to the complex structures in which we live. This event, in collaboration with PVA Books, marks the finissage of a book that was technically never launched.
This event will take place in a room with theatre style seating. The space is accessible by lift and stairs and there is a semi-accessible bathroom on the ground floor. Please check-in at the cash desk in Dublin Art Book Fair, where you will be directed to the event room. For further accessibility information, please contact Learning + Public Engagement Curator Órla Goodwin at [email protected] or call the office on 016710073, 11am–5pm (open Monday–Friday).
PVA Books, established in 2015, is a Dublin- and Berlin-based publisher specialising in literary non-fiction. They aim to publish unique and distinct emerging and established voices, and to produce readable, beautifully designed books by working closely with our designers at all stages of production.
Dublin Art Book Fair (3–13 December 2026) is a centre for contemporary artist books offering a wide selection of artist publications and titles from creative, small and independent publishers, both Irish or international, to browse or buy. In conjunction with the Fair, DABF presents an programme of book launches, publishers talks, and workshops, offering ways to engage and gain insight into contemporary independent and arts publishing.
DABF is annually hosted and produced by Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, an artists’ studio complex and contemporary art gallery in Dublin City Centre. The Gallery presents five exhibitions annually of newly commissioned work by Irish and international artists. This is supported by a programme of free talks, tours, screenings and workshops.
Dublin Art Book Fair 2026 is generously sponsored by our longstanding partner Henry J Lyons and supported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
