Come and Sing Messiah (Part I)

You are warmly invited to join us for an informal "Come and Sing" of some movements from Handel's Messiah on Sunday 29th November at Victoria Methodist Church.
We will be singing the First Part of Messiah during our Advent Sunday evening service - the choir will sing the first six choruses, and we are delighted that Charlotte Newstead will be joining us to sing some of the arias and recitatives.
John Barnett will be accompanying on the organ and Lyn Lloyd-Jones will be directing as usual.
We will rehearse on the afternoon of the 29th (with tea and cake before the service) and there are two additional (optional!) Sunday evening rehearsals on 8th and 22nd November at 7.15 pm, which you would be very welcome to attend.
All of this will take place at Victoria Methodist Church, 1a Whiteladies Road, Clifton, BS8 1NU.
For further details, and to reserve a place (we are anticipating that this will be a very popular event and places are limited) please email David Ball at [email protected]
It would be useful if you could tell David which voice part you would like to sing (Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass), and whether or not you would like to borrow a vocal score (we are using the Watkins Shaw edition). Please also indicate whether you have any food allergies which the catering team should be aware of when planning the cakes!
It is free to take part but donations towards costs would be gratefully accepted on the day!
