Check out my profile all my other clay and fiber art classes, in-person and online available.

Clay Club: Independant Study is for people who have taken handbuilding pottery classes ( with me, or elsewhere) and want some free time in a clay studio for their own ideas!
Do you need something consistent on your schedule to carve out a little creativity for yourself?
Would it help you to have others you meet with regularly to spur your motivation?
Clay Club is for you!

Come join me in my Columbia City Pottery and fiber studio during my work time, and have some self-directed time to do more of the projects you learned in class or play around with some new ideas.

What's included:
•Weekly meetings in the studio for 3 hours of work time. Drop-ins available.
Mondays 6-9pm, Nov 3rd-Dec 29th
•1.5 lbs of stoneware clay per meeting (more can be purchased if needed)
•Access to my underglazes, and glazes, and all my studio tools
•Bisque firing and glaze firing services to cone 6 only
•Handbuilding only - no wheel access at this time
•If you are just dropping in for one class, I will glaze your work with matte clear glaze

You can purchase one session at a time of Clay Club, or register for 4 session package for a discount. For the 4 session discount, register with that ticket on the first day you want to attend, then message me the 3 other days you want to attend.

I will be working on my own work, and available for questions, but not instruction. For instance, "how do I make a box ?" is instruction.

Parameters for Clay Club

•If you like, you can purchase your own clay bag from Seattle Pottery Supply, etc. but it MUST be CONE 6 clay. I will need to see the actual label before I fire in my kiln. I can't store your clay at my studio

• Likewise you can purchase your own glazes, but I ONLY fire to cone 6, so I will need to see the label as well.

• There is a difference between Cone 6 and Cone 06. Make sure you only purchase Cone 6 or it will damage my kiln.

• If you want to use red cone 6 clay, please bring your own table cloth and be prepared to wash tools after use.

•Projects need to be able to fit on my kiln shelves, not larger. Ask if you are not sure.

•All projects cannot be thicker than an inch to avoid kiln-damaging explosions. If they are thicker, I will not fire. Check in with me!

•I am not responsible for any breakage during firing. That is up to the kiln gods and simply the price you pay for working with clay.

The Garden Workshops are held in a small urban forest with towering heritage Douglas Fir trees, that create a cool and pleasant shade garden, even in the height of summer. MAY-SEPTEMBER

Workshops are held rain or shine, because there is a covered workshop and a festival tent.

OCTOBER-MAY Workshops are held inside my cozy studio in the trees with a woodfire stove!
