Thomas Friggens Presents ‘Under the Mountain’
‘Under the Mountain’ is a collection of new compositions by Auckland based drummer and composer Thomas Friggens.
Drawing on jazz, contemporary music and improvisation, the project brings together a dynamic ensemble of musicians to perform this original work.
Joining Thomas are Frank Talbot on saxophone, Calum Dundas on guitar, David Schaevitz on bass and Rory Johns on keys.
After completing his jazz studies in Wellington, Thomas Friggens was part of the internationally renowned Strike Percussion ensemble.
Since moving to Auckland a few years ago, he has been a sought-after collaborator on the scene, performing with locals like Jonathan Crayford, and visiting guests such as Patrick Bartley Jr. (USA).
