About this Event
Learn sewing machine basics and re-style an old button-down shirt, through the art of UPCYCLING
Join 's Kaya for her popular Button-Down Upcycling workshop!
During this workshop you’ll learn the basics on how to use the sewing machine and use different upcycle techniques to transform an old button-down shirt into a new design that fits your style.
Kaya (She/Her) is a Dutch creator who has always been focused on sustainability in the fashion industry. With Studio Dingen (which translates to Studio Things) Kaya upcycles old clothes and other materials to keep them from unnecessarily ending up in landfill.
You’ll use a step-by-step guide, provided for five different alterations such as cropping, making bows or adding ruffles. But your own creative ideas and designs are also more than welcome! Just keep in mind that you’ll have 4 hours to work on your piece. Kaya, Haven and Corey be there to guide you through every step to make sure that you’ll leave this workshop with your own, one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
Machines and other materials will be provided, but you should bring your own button-down shirt!
All levels are welcome! This is a beginner friendly workshop, sewing experience is helpful but not required. This workshop is open to folks 18+.
Space is limited in our studio- we are able to accommodate 6 attendees. Sign up now to secure your spot!
