Bulgarian Folk Dance Afternoon on the Day of the National Awakeners in Bulgaria
Come along for an active Bulgarian folk dancing practice - a chance to move, listen, learn and experience the music together. There will be no teaching as in the regular practice (Join Fridays regular practice here) or previous workshops - just dance.
You can practise some of the well known dances at celebrations and parties in Bulgaria, maybe learn something new on your own (or with some help ;), simply socialiase and meet other Bulgarian folk music enthusiasts.
There will be a few surprises even if you are shy to dance. ;)
November 1st is a holiday in Bulgaria and we use this occasion to celebrate it with a bit of Bulgarian culture.
On November 1st, Bulgaria celebrates the Day of the National Awakeners, a special holiday dedicated to honouring the country's historic scholars, modernisers, and freedom fighters who preserved Bulgarian culture and national identity. This meaningful day focus is on the power of education, literature, and spiritual light in awakening the spirit of a nation.

Important:
If you would like to dance and move around the studio, please bring soft-soled indoor dance shoes that are used only in the studio. Bare feet and socks are not permitted.
