Honouring Our Heroes – Heroes Amongst Us
Black History Month Community Celebration 2026
Join African Community School (ACS) and Pembury Community Centre as we celebrate Black History Month 2026 with an inspiring community event dedicated to recognising the everyday heroes who make a difference in our lives.
This year's theme, "Honouring Our Heroes – Heroes Amongst Us," shines a spotlight on local people whose kindness, leadership, resilience, and service have positively impacted their families and communities.
Enjoy an afternoon of:
- Inspiring community hero stories and speeches
- Interactive workshops
- Live performances
- Guest speakers
- Community and information stalls
- Food and refreshments
- Karaoke and entertainment
We are also inviting community members to nominate their heroes and share the stories behind their nominations as part of the event.
Whether you're attending as a guest, volunteer, stallholder, or community supporter, we welcome you to join us in celebrating the people who inspire us every day.
