In Celebration of Life ❤️
A International Men’s Day Theatre Performance by theBMC100
What does it mean to celebrate life, honour our experiences and create space for men to be heard?
This International Men’s Day, theBMC100 invites you to In Celebration of Life, a highly interactive theatre performance that celebrates and honours men’s lives, alongside the families, friends and communities who support them.
This is not simply a performance to sit back and watch. Through playful approaches and audience participation, we invite you to become part of the experience, engage with the work and explore the themes together.
Created around the experiences and realities of Black and Brown men, this event offers an opportunity for men and the wider community to celebrate who we are, speak our truth and stand in our power.
Life can leave us carrying wounds that are not always visible. Behind our everyday responsibilities and the roles we play, there are experiences, emotions and stories that deserve to be acknowledged. In Celebration of Life creates space to come together, recognise these experiences and explore what it means to support one another.
Together, we will make space for:
- Celebration. Honouring men's lives, identities, experiences and contributions.
- Connection. Bringing people together through theatre, participation and shared experiences.
- Truth and expression. Creating opportunities to raise our voices and reflect on the things that matter to us.
- Grief, courage and hope. Acknowledging life's challenges while recognising our collective strength.
- Healing and possibility. Exploring the personal and collective resources that can help us move forward.
By the end of the experience, we hope to have created a shared space where our voices are amplified, our experiences are acknowledged and we can begin to identify our own medicines and remedies for the journey ahead.
Whether you are a Black or Brown man, a family member, a friend, a supporter or someone who wants to be part of a more connected community, you are invited.
Come ready to participate, reflect, connect and celebrate life with us.
This International Men’s Day, let’s honour men’s lives, recognise the people who stand beside them and explore what we can create when we come together.
