About this Event
Join us in person for Black British Literature: Our Writers, Our Stories, Our Communities—a gathering celebrating the writers, stories, and communities at the heart of Black British literature. Come share in the conversation!
A free two-hour workshop exploring our communities through Black British literature.
Join writer and Black British literature facilitator Denise Rawls for a welcoming and interactive workshop celebrating Black British writers and the stories that have shaped our communities.
Together, we’ll explore writing by Black British authors, think about whose stories are told and remembered, and consider how literature can help us understand our histories, our communities and ourselves.
There will be opportunities to read, discuss and share ideas in a relaxed space. You don’t need to be an expert, have studied literature or even be a regular reader. Just come with curiosity and a willingness to discover some brilliant writing.
Everyone is welcome.
This event is funded by Hackney Council as part of the Windrush Grant Scheme.
