About this Event
Thinking About Law School? Start Here.
Did you know you can work at a law firm as a legal intern while you’re still an undergraduate?
Join Black Future Lawyers (BFL) at TMU for a practical, student-focused session designed to help you understand what you can start doing now to build your path toward law school and a career in law.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
⚖️ The Avenue Program
Learn about the Avenue Program, an opportunity that connects Black undergraduate students with legal internship opportunities at law firms before law school. You’ll learn what the opportunity involves, what makes a strong applicant, and how you can position yourself for it.
🎓 Hear Directly From Law School Admissions
You’ll hear from members of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law Admissions Team about what they actually look for in law school applicants and what you can do as an undergraduate to prepare.
💼 Hear From a Former Avenue Intern
Hear firsthand from a TMU undergraduate student and former Avenue Program intern who is currently working toward law school. Get an honest look at their experience and practical advice on pursuing opportunities like Avenue.
👀 And More Guest Speakers…
We have more guests joining us who you’ll want to hear from. Come to the event to find out who else will be in the room and what they have to share.
🍕 FREE FOOD
Yes – there will be free food at the event! Come, learn, connect, and grab something to eat.
🎁 And We May Have Something for Your LSAT Journey…
LSAT preparation can be expensive, so we want to help make it a little more accessible. We’ll be hosting a special giveaway for attendees – and trust us, this is one you’ll want to stick around for.
