About this Event
In this class we’ll be exploring three independent galleries in Shoreditch. You’ll be guided through group discussions and independent drawing tasks. You'll have the opportunity to meet new people, have interesting discussions, gain confidence in drawing and make meaningful connections with artworks and people.
This class focuses on expanded forms of patchwork through painting, sculpture, installation and traditional craft. Contrasting time frames and geo-locations are knitted together forming dialogues across generations. Impossible architectures emerge through the fight between gesture and geometry.
Connecting Curious Minds runs classes designed to give those with curious minds confidence in accessing London’s rich art scene. We use drawing as a way of engaging more deeply with artworks and we use group discussions to make connections between artworks, wider culture and personal histories. CCM classes create a warm setting for interesting discussions to arise, helping you to connect more meaningfully with artworks and new people.
You don't need to be confident at drawing or talking about art to join, the discussions and drawing tasks are friendly and open, we are interested in hearing the personal connections you make to the artworks and ideas. Participants on CCM classes are a diverse mix of artists, creatives and and those looking to reconnect with their long-lost creativity.

Testimonials from past participants
“Today’s class gave me the opportunity to find time for myself, relax and try to focus on something new and a skill that I’d like learn. Ellie is brilliant, passionate and extremely calm which makes her classes very enjoyable.”
“I found the class both relaxing and engaging. It was a nice change from the usual rush of daily life to take some time out and really focus on an artwork and my response to it. Ellie was encouraging without being intrusive and lead the class in a very natural way.”
“As an art lover, it was a delightful experience that allowed me to connect with art on a much deeper level than usual. Drawing a piece requires so much attention and presence—it’s incredibly grounding! A beautiful antidote to the hyperstimulated rhythm of our modern world.”
