About this Event
ACTING 101
Real Training. Real Skills. Real Opportunities.
Presented by Philadelphia Comedy College
Being in front of the camera is one thing. Knowing what to do when you get there is another.
We're living in an exciting time for entertainment. With independent films, streaming platforms, web series, comedy sketches, and digital content creating new opportunities for performers, more people than ever are stepping in front of the camera.
But natural talent and popularity are only part of the equation.
What happens when the director says ACTION?
Can you deliver a believable performance? Maintain your character? React naturally to another actor? Take direction? Step outside your comfort zone and bring a character to life—even when the scene isn't funny?
That's where training makes a difference.
Philadelphia Comedy College proudly presents ACTING 101, an engaging, hands-on acting course designed to help aspiring actors, comedians, content creators, and performers strengthen their craft and expand their range.
This isn't about becoming a star overnight. It's about developing the tools, discipline, and confidence to become a better performer.
And you don't have to be a comedian to participate!
WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE
Over five three-hour classes, participants will explore:
- Monologue Study & Audition Preparation — Understanding, interpreting, rehearsing, and performing material for real-world auditions.
- Character Development — Creating believable characters and learning how to maintain them throughout a performance.
- Improvisation — Developing spontaneity, listening skills, and authentic reactions.
- Scene Work — Learning to interact, respond, and build believable moments with other actors.
- Working on Set — Understanding professionalism, preparation, taking direction, and collaborating with cast and crew.
- Individual Performance Coaching — Instruction tailored to your experience, strengths, and areas for growth.
Whether you're preparing for your first audition or looking to strengthen performances in your own productions, this course meets you where you are and challenges you to grow.
MORE THAN A CLASS — TAKE SOMETHING WITH YOU!
Your tuition includes:
PROFESSIONAL ACTOR HEADSHOTS
Professional photographs to help you present yourself when pursuing auditions, casting opportunities, and performance projects.
