About this Event
Vladimir, a bold and disturbingly funny tale of campus life and illicit desire, burst onto the literary scene in 2023. Tackling generational shifts in complex sexual politics, the book is playwright Julia May Jonas's first novel; she also wrote its screen adaptation which appeared to great acclaim on Netflix earlier in the year and starred Rachel Weisz.
Julia May Jonas will discuss the ins and outs of her provocative fiction with NYU Department of English Professor Catherine Robson, author of Heart Beats: Everyday Life and the Memorized Poem and co-editor of The Victorian Age for the Norton Anthology of English Literature.
Brought to you in partnership with the Department of English, the Creative Writing Program, and the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing.
