About this Event
In this lecture, Ira Block will walk you through five different styles of photographing people. Over the years being on National Geographic assignments, Ira has mastered the skill of travel portraiture, building meaningful connections with the people in a short duration of time, and photographing a culture through portraits. He will impart these learnings and delve deeper into compositional techniques, choosing the right lens for environmental and candid portraits, and capturing the essence of a person rather than a simple photograph. He will also address navigating the cultural nuances of photographing people in various countries across the world. This presentation will improve your overall photographic sensibilities to approaching strangers, either in your home city, or while traveling.
