Vere Gallery presents the solo exhibition by Yuri Berishvili, with a particular emphasis on his graphic works. Through his distinctive artistic vision and creative trajectory, Yuri Berishvili occupies a significant position in the recent history of Georgian art. His abstract painting engages with the experience of Color Field painting, which he has developed further through a highly individual artistic interpretation. In his practice, color functions as an autonomous and unrestricted field of action, constituting a fundamental value through which elusive dimensions of experience—such as meditation and mysticism—are translated into visual forms. For the wider public, Yuri Berishvili’s artistic signature is primarily associated with expressive abstractions centred on colour. His graphic works, however, remain less familiar to many viewers. Characterized by a minimalist and concise visual language, these works articulate the poetic and philosophical sensibilities that fundamentally shape Yuri Berishvili’s artistic practice. In their restraint and precision, they reveal another, more distilled dimension of his oeuvre, while perhaps conveying with greater clarity the artistic questions and aspirations that underpin his work.
