Երկար Կարապետյան /ԵՐԿԱՐ/
Արվեստի գործը փակված, մեռած առարկա չի։ Այն այլանդակվող, շարժվող ու վերածնվող էներգիա է։ Երֆորմանսը իմ «Երկա՞ր» գրքի, իմ մարմնի ու ձայնի փոխակերպումն է՝ հենց տեղում, այստեղ ու հիմա։ Ես հրաժարվում եմ տպագրված թղթից որպես ինչ-որ պատրաստի ապրանքի `Natura Naturans։
Միկրոֆոնի առաջ, ես կարդում եմ իմ քառատողերը, պատռում եմ էջերը ու սոսնձում դրանք իմ մաշկին ու մարմնին։ Թղթի պատռվելու ցավն ու ձայնը վերածվում են տարածության մեջ պայթող աղմուկի։
Գործողության պիկին նյութական գիրքը դառնում է լիովին դատարկ, իսկ իմ մարմինը վերածվում է կենդանի, շնչող, քայլող «տեքստի»։
Որպես վերջնական ազատագրում ու կոնցեպտուալ փակում ես մկրատով կտրում եմ իմ մազերը՝ գանգուրներս․ նյութականացնում ու դուրս եմ նետում այն վիզուալ կերպարը, որը պատկերված էր գրքիս կազմին։ Կտրված մազերը դնում եմ դատարկված կազմի մեջ։ Հին կերպարն ու տպագիր խոսքը փշրվում են, որպեսզի տարածքում մնա միայն մաքուր, անխոցելի, վերածնված ներկայությունը։

YERFORMANCE /performance/
Yerem Karapetyan /aka YERKAR/
A work of art is not a closed, dead object; it is an energy that transforms, moves, and is reborn. The performance is a metamorphosis of my book *Yerkar* [Long], as well as of my body and voice—taking place right here, right now. I reject the printed paper as a mere finished product—"Natura Naturans".
Standing before the microphone, I read my quatrains, tear out the pages, and glue them onto my skin and body. The pain and sound of the tearing paper transform into a noise that erupts into the surrounding space.
At the climax of the action, the physical book becomes completely empty, while my body transforms into a living, breathing, walking "text."
As an act of final liberation and conceptual closure, I cut off my hair—my curls—thereby materialising and casting aside the visual image that appeared on the book's cover. I place the severed hair inside the now-empty cover. The old image and the printed word are shattered, so that only a pure, invulnerable, and reborn presence remains in the space.
