Harmonic Breath: Guided Breathwork Workshop with Live Music
The Gift of Becoming
Honoring who you are and opening to who you are becoming.
Join us for a three-hour, facilitator-led workshop exploring conscious breathing, body awareness, and meditation. Through instruction, guided practice, and accompanying live music, Harmonic Breath offers space to step away from everyday demands, explore your inner experience, and reconnect with yourself.
Before you register
This workshop includes active, rhythmic breathing that can feel physically and emotionally intense. Strong sensations and emotions may arise, and some people may feel anxious or overwhelmed. It includes periods of rest and meditation, but the breathing practice can be activating rather than calming.
No previous experience is required, but this approach is not suitable for everyone. You are invited to participate at your own pace and may return to your natural breathing, rest, or stop at any time. There is no expectation to push through discomfort. Please read the health considerations below before registering.
Our quarterly theme: The Gift of Becoming
Every breath offers an opportunity to meet yourself where you are—and make room for what comes next.
This quarter, we’ll explore gratitude for who we are today and curiosity about who we are becoming. Through guided breathing, reflection, and intention setting, you’ll be invited to notice what is present without needing to force a particular experience.
A remembering of who you are.
An opening to who you are becoming.
What you’ll learn and practice
The workshop combines explanation, guided participation, and time for reflection. Together, we’ll explore:
-Breathwork foundations: Learn the breathing technique, what to expect, and when to ease back or stop.
-Body awareness and movement: Notice your breathing, physical sensations, and areas of tension through guided awareness and gentle movement.
-Rhythmic breathing: Participate in guided rounds of active breathing, interspersed with rest and optional breath holds, generally while lying on your mat.
-Meditation and reflection: Allow time to settle, notice your experience, and reflect on what feels meaningful.
-Integration and intention: Consider how your observations can inform everyday awareness and the intentions you carry forward.
Wael guides the practices throughout the workshop. Simon’s live instrumentation accompanies the instruction and practice, supporting the rhythm of the breathing and the quieter periods of meditation.
Space to explore, without an outcome to achieve
Breathwork may bring emotions or sensations into awareness that you had not noticed before. Your experience might include moments of ease, challenge, emotion, or stillness.
There is no particular response you need to have and no requirement to experience an emotional release. Experiences vary, and feeling calmer or lighter afterward is not guaranteed. Listening to your limits is part of the practice.
Our Wilmington setting
We’ll gather at Brooklyn Arts Center, a restored historic church with soaring ceilings and stained glass—a distinctive setting for shared learning, practice, and reflection.
