What Neuroscience Really Tells Us About Children's Behaviour
Many of us have heard ideas like “the emotional brain has taken over” to explain children’s behaviour. These explanations offer a simple reason for meltdowns, or challenging moments. However, modern neuroscience tells a more interesting and more hopeful story.
In this talk, we will gently unpack some of the most common brain myths used to explain children’s behaviour and explore what current neuroscience actually shows about how children learn, regulate emotions, and cope with challenge.
The aim is not to turn parents into neuroscientists, but to provide clearer, kinder, and more empowering ways of understanding children’s behaviour.
