Join our special event at the RSA House, exploring the role of community-led action in protecting our shared cultural and natural heritage.
About this Event

The evening will explore, through inspiring work taking place across East London and West Essex, how community action can engage, educate and empower individuals to develop a collective sense of care and responsibility for restoring and inhabiting the natural world around them. From the furthest edge of Epping Forest to the River Thames, the conversation will flow through a landscape of projects, all interconnected by the same ecological blue-green corridor.
Opening with Alan Cox, Chair of the Copped Hall Trust, and then Peter Lewis, CEO of Epping Forest Heritage Trust, we will move downstream to Save Lea Marshes with campaign representative Caroline Day, entering London with Dr Miriam Burke, CEO of East London Waterworks Park, and finally stopping at Cody Dock with Simon Myers, CEO of Gasworks Dock Partnership, just ahead of where the Lea meets the Thames. The speaker presentations will close with a panel discussion chaired by Elsa Jacob of the RSA West Essex & East London Steering Committee.

Before and after the event, all attendees are invited to continue the conversation at the RSA's Muse Bar, where you can purchase cocktails and mocktails.

This event is organised and hosted by the RSA West Essex & East London Network. Attendance is open to Fellows and non-Fellows alike.
