About the facilitator:

Gideon Steinberg (he/him) started working at United for Literacy in 2021, and currently facilitates several programs including a soft skills workshop, a book club, and Pathways to Post Secondary, which provides individualized support to people who are interested in pursuing a college or university education.

Gideon has also worked as an instructor for a high school equivalency program, was a frontline staff member in the Toronto shelter system, taught at a high school for students with developmental disabilities, and has tutored individuals of all ages and educational levels.

He is a firm believer in a student-centred approach to learning, and is mindful of the influence that institutions and systems have in affecting people’s lives. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, and hanging out with his cat Isobel.
