Take a moment to slow down and reconnect with the natural world. These ranger-led wellbeing walks offer an opportunity to experience local parks and reserves in a different way. Combining gentle exploration with mindfulness and nature connection practices, each walk is designed to help participants pause, observe, reflect and engage with the environment through all their senses.Guided by the landscape, weather and season, we will take a slow-paced journey through some of Auckland's special natural places. Along the way, you'll learn about local ecology, biodiversity and conservation efforts while taking part in activities that encourage presence, curiosity and connection.
You may find yourself listening to birdsong, noticing the textures of leaves and bark, learning about native species, practising mindful breathing beneath the canopy, or simply taking a quiet moment to appreciate the sights, sounds and scents of the forest. Every walk is different, responding to the unique character of the place and the people attending.
Suitable for adults with moderate fitness and mobility levels. Walks are completed at a relaxed pace with regular stops for observation, discussion and reflection.
